Shae-rene:

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete

You start to wonder why you're here not there
And you'd give anything to get what's fair
But fair ain't what you really need,
If only I could find the answer
To take it all away

too scared to act
you know its funny how ironic the world is becoming. actually, we all know values don't change but people do. since when were people so scared of feedback, especially when its meant to improve? well since they became people of power. the thing about power is that you are supposed to use it for the betterment of the people. but as always, its the laymen that have to tell the people in power how to do their jobs in the first place. when you don't do what you're entrusted to do in the first place, any form of feedback will be seen as a threat. and how do they react to such "threats?" They resort to protecting themselves by giving a host of hopeless excuses and blatantly, at that. this practice is on the ascendancy and is known infamously as "arse-covering." when the people your boss trusts to manage the job screw up, the boss looks bad. and when the boss looks bad, the boss loses face. and in order not to lose face, the boss protects their arse-lickers instead of demanding the best from them. this then develops into favouritism (undisguised btw). and so, begets this vicious cycle of covering each other's arses. maybe they like each other's arses so much that they cannot get enough of it. To think some people have the skewed view that you need to accept bribes in order to be branded as corrupted. its transpiring at places you lest expect...don't be fooled by the noble names of some insitutions especially those that pride themselves on having a conscience as one of their so-called flagship values. these are the very ones that have mastered corruption and moulded it into an artform. as for me, im tired of all this shit and though the old adage goes, "if you can't beat them, join them" i would rather let my dignity and integrity speak through actions rather than a shitloads of useless words and would rather stick to my side of the fence anytime, thank you.
